A special allen key designed to remove the tails of the radiator valves that are screwed into the radiator itself. Fits most rads. It is long and strong enough to accept sufficient torque and even mild hammering to assit removal of stubborn tails. The end of the key is sized to go inside a standard valve and it also has recesses to engage internal studs which sometimes exisist in the tail . The other end of the key has a square to remove 1/2" square air vents.
On a practical note :- When changing a radiator people often turn off the the two valves, disconnect the radiator, dump it only to find they have thrown away the tails thinking they are part of the radiator. Don't do this, save the tails you will need them. A radiator valve has two nuts. If the nut fixing the valve to the radiator is larger than the nut fixing the valve to the pipe the chances are you will need this special spanner.
