This brass thread adaptor connects modern 3/4 inch BSP (Hozelock / Gardena type) garden hose pipe quick connect fittings to the outlet of your older outside tap.

Both ends of the connector have a male 3/4 inch BSP outer thread. One end has a 5/8 inch BSP female inner thread (rare size), the other a 1/2 inch BSP female inner thread.

Great for old hose union bib taps with the less common 1/2 or 5/8 inch BSP size outlet threads.

Old garden tap adaptor

Finally, I've found an adaptor that fits both of my outside garden taps. I've bought two so I can wash the car on the driveway and water my garden at back. Before purchasing the adaptors I called Stevenson Plumbing to double check if the adaptor fitted modern garden hose systems. The gentleman I spoke with was friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend. I'm trying as much possible not to replace items unnecessarily- both taps are perfectly fine and these adaptors offered a cost effective solution.Sharon (29 Apr 2019, 11:23)

When my old black Hozelock attachment split I thought that I would have to buy a new outside tap to be able to use a hosepipe, as none of the new attachments I tried fitted my old tap.
