Pack of 4 radiator bleed keys, each with its own advantage.

Most UK radiator air vent valve bleed screws all have the same size square end - approx 5mm x 5mm square - which is the size our keys fit.

Brass Radiator Bleed Key - Air Vent Key
Small brass one has the best true square recess.

Rear Access Radiator Bleed Key - Air Vent Key

Some radiators are fitted so close to the wall that an ordinary key won't fit - this one will !
These special keys can be very hard to find in the shops !


Alloy Radiator Bleed Key - Air Vent Key
The alloy key, we think, is best for closing the vent.
Our thought is that as the material is weaker than the bleed screw itself, so is less likely to damage the screw in the first place.
Also, being smaller in size less torque can be applied. Excess tightening torque is the prime cause of vent failure.
So, use this one for closing if you can.

Brass Clock Winder Style Radiator Bleed Key
The easy grip brass clock type key is the most popular as it fits on a keyring and it is easier for people with weaker grip to operate.

TIP: Radiator bleed screws will suffer damage if overtightened.

Nice set of keys, solved my problems and will keep safely for future tricky rads. Processing and delivery astonishing - I got home from work on Monday night to be told there was a problem, destroyed a plastic mounted key on an over tightened valve before resorting to pliers, ordered these late that night (Monday) with standard shipping, and they've just arrived Wednesday noon. ordered these as a set of 4 because i have a mix of radiators and couldn't find a single key over here which would fit the old style bleed screw ( all the ones I have found are too big). These do the job perfectly so bled the house in 15 mins or so!! Excellent service from you - ordered on 27.2.22 and it arrived on 1.3.22 - can't ask for better than that!! A good price for the four - they should serve most peoples needs.. really like the idea of the reverse key even though I won't need it at the moment - will pop it in the toolbox in case!!Ian Daddo-Langlois (1 Mar 2022, 15:07)
