200g (approx) hank of plumbers hemp / flax.

Useful for :

  • Hot and cold water.
  • Natural gas.
  • LP steam up to 7 bar and 200C.
  • Central heating open and pressurised systems.

NOT suitable for use with potable (drinking) water.

Use in conjunction with BOSS White pipe jointing compound (available in our store).

Hemp and paste was universally used before PTFE to make threaded plumbing pipe joints, ask any old plumber.
Often hemp and paste will succeed where PTFE fails (especially on iron fittings) .
